Pregnancy Acne

September 14th, 2009

Being a mother I am all too familiar with acne problems during pregnancy. The last thing a mother wants to do is put anthing in or on her body that might affect that precious growing child inside her. I found a website that discusses acne during pregnancy. It discusses the hormones that may affect the acne and make it worse while you are pregnant. It discusses medicine to avoid while pregnant, a medicine that I tried for acne when I was much younger, I remember before the doctor would start me on it I had to have a pregnancy test and then go on the pill.

It’s a great medicine for individuals who aren’t at “risk” for getting pregnant. But if you are pregnant, or want to become pregnant, what can you use? Because the last thing you want to do is be all big and pregnant and have acne. I can attest first hand to the fact that you don’t feel too good about yourself sometimes when you are really really pregnant, so the last thing you want is to decrease your self esteem even more by having bad acne. What cream can you use? The site says that women should check with their doctor first of course, but they say the antibiotic topical treatments can be used while pregnant.
