When I think about acne cream, I sometimes wonder about that infomercial I used to see all the time. As I recall, I saw Jessica Simpson, Puff Daddy and that kid from Growing Pains whose name eludes me (Jeremy something?) all doing the infomercial. I’m not sure that if I were a celebrity I would want to be advertising that I had issues with acne, but I suppose perhaps they were well compensated. What’s funny is I could remember all those celebrity names before I could remember the name to the acne cream, “Proactiv Solution.” The thing that I didn’t like about it was that it was a multi-step process.
Call me lazy but I really like it when you don’t have to spend an hour taking care of your face. First there is wash then a conditioner then a protection… ok I don’t know what the steps were for Proactiv Solution, but it always seemed like there were more steps to it than to washing your hair. And I am reminded of the Seinfeld episode where the short bald guy talks about waiting in the shower for the conditioner to work (if you read the bottle, it does say to let it sit in your hair for a few minutes prior to rinsing).
But then again, if all those celebrities endorsed it, it must work. Truth in Advertising. They aren’t allowed to lie. So there really must be something to it. So I looked up the web site for Proactiv Solution.
